Expectations of Behavior:

Players are expected to respect their guild mates in The Silence. We take this very seriously. We believe there are ways to express yourself without putting each other down or being insulting. Joking around is fine, but watch that line of respect and decency!

Officers prefer to not intervene with chat channel or guild chat conversations. We will probably not call you out in channels, but we will address you privately if you are doing something to harm our reputation on server or our dynamics in guild. We hate policing, so we prefer players and members use common sense so we won't have to.

Consistent complaints about members may mean you aren't a good fit for our guild. At that point, we will be glad to help you find a better home.

Raider Expectations:

Rage quitting is not tolerated for any reason. If you absolutely need to walk away, let an officer know and come back after a five minute break. An officer will postpone the issue until it can be dealt with after raid. One rage quit can mean instant demotion; a second can mean we will ask you to find a new raid force.

We don't mind getting strat and timer info... just sometimes DURING raid isn't the best time. Send a tell to an officer who is NOT raid leading to find out if it is the right time. DO NOT share timers without asking an officer first if you should. WARN people if their are profanities in your timers/ triggers so they can choose whether to use them or not.

All Members:

Leaders and officers will use discretion when needed. We strive for a balanced guild culture built on respect while still focusing on progression. We will generally sacrifice progression in order to provide a relaxing and pleasant place for our members to play hard, but we do require a somewhat thick skin. Use common sense, be respectful and focus on being a team player.

Ranks:

  • Time Lords: Our fearless leaders! They are responsible for receiving input and making the final decisions.
  • Torchwood: They are our problem solvers and organizers! These members know their classes and help others find the resources they need to thrive as raiders and members of the community.
  • Companions: They are our "Pseudo Officers," which is a rotating rank every month! Members are selected based on nomination and this process allows people to see how the leadership works behind the scenes.
  • Raiders: They are the core of our raid force! These members maintain 75%+ attendance and meet all current gear requirements. Officers will update gear requirements with the expansions and as we progress. A small window will be given to stragglers to meet requirements before rank is reduced.
  • Raid Alts: They are characters designated by the leadership! Occasionally we will require a raider to play a needed alternate class.
  • Reserves of Gallifrey: They are raiders who do not meet attendance or current gear requirements! Falling below 75% attendance and/or bare minimum gear will put you at this rank. You MUST be raid ready to remain at this rank and be willing to raid when we need you.
  • Casuals/Alts: They are our member alts and our casual friends and teammates!
  • Applets: They are our new recruits! The application period may last up to 30 days before an initial vote; your app period may be extended at officer discretion.

Any officer missing for more than two months will be dropped to casual rank just like any other member going MIA.

Note that all raiders must be open to constructive criticism. We want our members to be constantly looking for ways to improve and grow as players! Raiders are evaluated on a monthly basis and rank is subject to change. You can lose raider rank and be put on reserves if you are "beat for your spot." If we recruit someone who consistently outperforms you, has way better attendance and you are sitting for months on end, you MAY drop rank at officer discretion. Generally if you keep working your toon and follow feedback, this will not happen regardless of who we recruit. However, we do reserve the right just like any raid force.

DKP and Bidding:

DKP is given as 3 per raid plus 1 for being on time; you will lose 1 DKP for every hour you are not here. DKP caps at 500 with a use it or lose it policy at the end of each month. Three linkdeads in an hour or being absent/linkdead/etc. for more than 10 minutes will cost you the hour's DKP and attendance. Raiders, apps, and reserves must be online and raid ready to earn DKP and attendance.

DKP bonuses and penalties may be given at officer discretion.

Bidding gives priority in the following order: Raiders and above > Apps > Raid Alts > Reserves of Gallifrey > Casuals

All leader, officer, and pseudo officer ranks bid as the rank they fall under based on attendance and performance. No exceptions are made for these ranks in bidding order.

Reserves of Gallifrey may bid as apps if at 60%+ attendance. Casuals will no longer be able to bid DKP and must bid plat for loot.

Min. DKP bid is 1; after a bid of 5, you must bid in increments of 5 (ex: 1 -> 5 -> 10 -> 15).

If no one bids DKP for an item, members may bid plat regardless of rank as long as the character he/she is bidding for is in the guild.  Min. bid is typically 50 plat (may change at officer discretion for new zones or special circumstances).

RANKS WILL NOW BE CONSTANTLY EVALUATED!

Percentages will be adjusted each week by officers. 75%+ attendance (60 day) will be required to maintain raider. If your rank goes up (or down) mid week, feel free to ask an officer for a rank adjustment. Reserves of Gallifrey will be the rank for raiders who are at 25%-74% (60 day) attendance. Reserves will include a small DKP decay (10%). Full DKP decay (25%) will be on anyone who has dropped to casual (0%-24% 60 day attendance).

Attendance:

Ranks are evaluated every month based on gear, performance, and attendance. If you are unsure of your attendance, please check the Rapid Raid section.

  • Raiders: 75%+

Raid form time is 7:45pm EST! Please be on time and ready to kill stuff!

We understand if things come up, but it is your responsibility to let a leader or officer know when you won't be here via in-game mail, text, Facebook, or the Post Out section of the forums.

Bonuses and Decay of DKP:

Bonuses and decay of DKP will be calculated based on the 60 day attendance at the end of each calendar month.

  • 90%+: 10 bonus DKP
  • 25%-74%: 10% decay of total DKP
  • 0%-24%: 20% decay of total DKP
